I collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about me or my products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Website or otherwise when you contact me.

I collect only the information I need to fulfil your order - such as your name, email address and shipping address. Other information I may collect, depending on what you are ordering, is details about your wedding such as the date, time, location and any details you give that are to be included in your design.

Like many other businesses, I also collect cookies. This includes log and usage data which is service-related, diagnostic, usage and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use the Website and which is recorded in log files. 

2. How do I collect your data?

Data is collected via the contact form or order form of my website. It is then automatically sent to me directly via email where it is stored in an enquiries folder.

When purchasing an item from my store, payments are made via Paypal or Stripe and I receive both an order confirmation email and Paypal/Stripe notification email confirming your order which provides me your email address, postal address, name, and the details of your order.

3. How long do I store information?

I will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than 1 year.

4. How do I keep your information safe?

I have appropriate security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information I process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security, and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Please only access the Website within a secure environment.

I may take photographs of your calligraphy commission or wedding stationery and share these on my social media pages to help promote my business and inspire other customers. If you would prefer me not to share your piece in this way, please let me know. I will never show any full address on any images posted on social media or my website.

5. Anything else?

Your details and any personal information you provide to me is used purely for processing your order and as record of income for tax purposes. If you would like further information or you would like to request that your data is changed or deleted, please contact me via hello@writtenbyemily.com.
